Sophisticated hero

A superficial look might suggest that his fate is compensating him for the disability he acquired at the age of sixteen.

After winning two golden medals in Vancouver-2010, Sergei Shilov collected a total record of Paralympic awards (6 golden, 3 silver and one bronze).

Simply Tarpischev

Russian men's national tennis team met the team of Argentine in the quarter-finals of Davis Cup. Our players were headed by their unchallenged captain, Shamil Tarpischev. He is without doubt the greatest authority on Russian and probably also international tennis scene. He seems to be in charge of everything and everybody from a bright newcomer to an established tennis-star; from the search for a place to rest in a given sports-complex to the construction of tennis academies all over Russia.

...The same sixth feeling

What is our coach like? The teacher, the educator, the second father/mother, the best friend, the comrade, brother-in-arms? What’s his character like: persistent, irreconcilable, despotic? Or, maybe, he is kind and even tender?
How big is his part in the success of the sportsmen, in his records? Do we value the trainer enough according to his merits? What can hurt him? These questions are eternal like the sport, like the world. We’ll seek for the answers by talking to the people of this unique profession.
