Mostafa Hassan Moscow was visited by the president of the International handball federation, Dr. Mostafa Hassan. He took part in the elective congress of the Russian handball Union, and also met with the Minister of sports, tourism and youth policy of Russian Federation Vitaliy Mutko.
During the visit he gave an exclusive interview to the correspondent of “Moskva sportivnaya”. Dr. Hassan shared the impressions of his Moscow visit, opinion on the Russian handball problems and encouraged millions of Russian tourists grieving about Egypt vacations.
- Mister Hassan, bring short results of your trip.
- I consider this visit to be very fruitful. We have discussed cooperation questions: both with the Russian handball Union and with Minsportturizm of Russia on handball development and popularization in your country.
- Many consider that the Russian handball, especially male, now endures the period of deep crisis.
- I don't agree with this point of view. Yes, your female national team now shows better results, than male. But this situation is the same in all kinds of sport. It is impossible to be all time on the top. Each team has time of rises and falls. Your men endure the recession period, but after all and it isn't eternal. Therefore I am assured that in short time your male national team will return the leading positions in the handball world.
- Minsportturizm of Russia provides the long-term federal target program of development of physical culture and sports. How important, do you think, is such a line of activity of sports ministry?
- In my opinion, Russia has an impressive policy in sports sphere. For that simple reason - the management of your country look at sport achievements as the face of the country. For example, the Eastern Europe has another attitude to this question– they have other priorities.
We discussed this theme with Vitaliy Mutko, and came to conclusion that only in sports people represent not only themselves, but also their country, the flag. Therefore I admire the work which carries out the sports ministry in this direction. I can wish Vitaliy Leontievich only good luck and success in this undertaking – I am sure that soon it will bear fruit.
- Vitaliy Mutko is engaged not only in sport questions, but also in tourism, I wonder: whether he asked you, as the Egyptian, when Russian tourists can start again having their vacations in your country? Have the riot ended?
- Yes, he did. And I have answered that Russians could come to Egypt easily. That occurs in Cairo are simply local excitements. It turned out that the area of Tahrir square became a certain analog of the London Hyde-park for our country. A place people come to express their opinion. And in Hurgada, Charm-al-Sheikh and other popular resort areas everything is absolutely quiet. Don't ever doubt, come to Egypt.
